Allan Houser: (lived from 6-14-1914 to 8-22-1994), is one of the most inventive, prolific native American artists. He was a painter, illustrator, teacher, and sculptor. Allan Houser is renowned internationally. South of Santa Fe, his family has an outdoor sculpture garden of his work. One can visit with an appointment and a guide. Photography is allowed. Allan Houser's outdoor sculptures are so profoundly gorgeous and spiritual that they are difficult to capture photographically. They are positioned in the garden so they melt into the pinion pines on the land.
